Westmont Custom Homes goes above and beyond normal requirements to insure your home is a certified green home as well as a high performance home. We utilize the following independent testing processes to meet our demand for the highest quality home for you and your family!
Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) – sets the standards for green building in the State of Florida. Independent registered FGBC certifying agents will verify and score your home to insure it meets the minimum standards for green certification.
Florida Yards & Neighborhood Program – your irrigation and landscaping plan will be designed following the standards set by this program, thus insuring not only a beautiful yard, but one that conserves water.
Duct Smoke Testing Process – An independent test to determine all leaks in the duct system – these leaks will be immediately fixed by an onsite mechanical contractor professional.
Blower Door Test – An independent test to help determine a home’s airtightness. Any leaks will be immediately sealed prior to the house being drywalled. The benefits of establishing the proper building tightness are:
- Reduced energy consumption due to air leakage
- Avoiding moisture condensation problems
- Avoiding uncomfortable drafts caused by cold air leaking in from the outdoors
- Making sure that the home’s air quality is not too contaminated by indoor air pollution
